Introduction

Physical therapy is a very important part of the recovery process for many patients. A proper environment for the therapy is essential. In a physical therapy room many non-invasive procedures can be undertaken. The physical therapist often works with their patients by doing exercises to strengthen and work their various muscles and body parts that need assistance. Physical therapists use machines and floor exercises with their patients with positive results.

Step 1

Use a room that is large enough to hold a few people at a time. The room must also be able to fit permanent and mobile equipment.

Step 2

Designate areas for different physical therapy machines. Arrange them spread apart so that there is room to maneuver around them and there can be a few people using various machines at one time without being on top of each other. Line mats in a few areas along the floor where you can work with patients on floor exercises.

Step 3

Arrange a sitting area. Put in a comfy couch, a reclining chair, and a couple of straight back chairs. The assortment of seating options will allow different needs patients to sit comfortably.

Step 4

Hang division curtains between machines and work stations. This will allow for a level of privacy for the patients.

Step 5

Put in a desk for you to sit at and take notes. Leave pens, paper, and post-its on the desk. You can store current patient folders in the desk drawers.

Tip

Make sure the room has a wide doorway to accommodate wheel chair access.

Introduction

We all need to drink water to live. Many people have filters on their taps but Pur has developed pitchers that can filter the water for you. These filters disinfect our water from microorganisms and other water impurities. Even though Pur has made these products relatively well, occasionally the filters on these pitchers do malfunction. If it is not time to change the filter entirely, follow the troubleshooting steps below to diagnose and repair the problem.

Instructions

Unfiltered Water Mixes Into The Filtered Water

Step 1

Remove the filter. Unscrew it from its position in the Pur water pitcher by twisting it to the left. When it is completely apart from the pitcher, pull it out of the pitcher.

Step 2

Clean the filter and the pitcher thoroughly. Use cold water and mild soap. Dry each piece very well.

Step 3

Screw the filter back into place. Make sure to twist it in to the right very tightly so that it is firmly set.

Unfiltered and Filtered Water Pours Out When I Tip The Pitcher

Step 1

Fill the pour tray with water. Fill the pitcher mostly to the top.

Step 2

Wait for the water to drain through the filter. You must wait for the entire pour tray to be filtered before you use the pitcher.

Step 3

Pour fresh, filtered water out of the pitcher. There will be no unfiltered water mixed in.

Tip

Change the filter every two months for optimum results.

Warning

Only use the filter for cold water. Hot water can damage the filter.

How to Become a Texas State Trooper

Introduction

If you want to help keep the peace and establish order in Texan society, you may want to become a Texas State Trooper. To be a Texas State Trooper you will need to have great moral character and you will need to be physically and mentally sound. You cannot have any misdemeanors on file. You must be a resident of Texas to work for the Texas Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper.

Step 1

Celebrate your 20th birthday before you attempt to become a state trooper in Texas. You must also be a US citizen.

Step 2

Graduate from a college with an Associate’s degree. You can complete 90 academic college hours in lieu of a degree.

Step 3

Fill out an application. You can find the form here: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/trainingacademy/Trooper_Trainee/training.htm. Submit the application and sign up for a testing date.

Step 4

Pass a physical demands exam. You will have to do sit-ups and push-ups. You will also have to run 1.5 miles.

Step 5

Take a pass the written test. This will test your reading and writing skills, as well as your SRA Adaptability.

Step 6

Fill out a personal history. This will be used during your subsequent polygraph test, which you need to pass

Step 7

Submit to a background check. No record should show up.

Step 8

Go to your interview. Speak with potential employers and make a good impression on them.

Step 9

Pass medical, vision, and psychological examinations. You must have 20/30 vision with or without glasses or contact lenses and you cannot have any ocular diseases.

Step 10

Complete basic training at the Law Enforcement Academy in Austin. You will live at the Academy. Training is around 28 weeks long.

Step 11

Accept a job offer from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Begin work and continue training on-the-job.

If you do not have enough money, look for investors. If you have a great business plan that looks like it will yield profits, investors will give you the financial backing that you need.

Set up a contract with the car company of your choice that you can afford. Choose the automobiles that you will carry in your dealership and order them.

Step 4

Pick a location. An old car dealership can work well if the reason it went out of business wasn’t its location. Car dealerships can thrive in populated suburbs because there are many drivers there. Make sure there are no dealerships in vicinity that are selling the same brand as you. Otherwise, it is fine, and even encouraged, to be near other non-competitive dealerships.

Step 5

Apply for any necessary licenses in your locale. Ask your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles about what the requirements are for licensing.

Make your dealership stand out. Buy bright color cars and arrange them artistically. Educate yourself and your staff on the different makes of the cars and what additional colors each car style comes in. Hang up flashy car posters around the inner offices of the dealership.

How to Become a Certified Ophthalmic Technician

Introduction

Ophthalmic technicians work with ophthalmologists to medically and surgically treat eye issues including vision disorders and eye diseases. Once you become an ophthalmic technician, you will take patients’ medical histories, test patient’s vision, educate patients on proper contact lens usage, sterilize and organize optical equipment, and administer diagnostic tests, among other responsibilities. You do not need a college degree to do this job but you will go through a fair amount of classroom lessons and on-the-job training.

Graduate high school or earn your GED. This is mandatory.

Step 2

Enroll in and complete an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program. Most programs last for one year. You will study ocular anatomy and physiology, psychology, medical ethics, microbiology, and ophthalmic pharmacology, among other subjects.

Step 3

Participate in a practicum where you are trained by experienced ophthalmic personnel. This is part of your Ophthalmic Technician program.

Step 4

Take the national certification exam upon graduation. The exam is given by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). You will take the Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) test.

Step 5

Pass the certification exam. Continue training by getting hired and learning on-the-job.
